What Is Flexo Printing
Flexo printing is a printing process that uses flexible printing plates made of rubber or plastic. The plates are mounted onto a cylinder and then inked before being pressed onto the surface to be printed on. Flexo printing is commonly used for printing on plastic, paper, and other flexible materials, and is often used for printing labels, packaging, and other products. It is a popular choice for printing because it is relatively fast and cost-effective.
However, flexo printing is not considered a high quality print method because it’s mostly used for roll to roll printing, which can have minor left to right movement, creating color overlapping and small smudges. Flexo printing will often provide you with better pricing since it’s very economical for high speed, high volume production. This is the trade off with flexo printing. Lower unit pricing, but lower print quality.
